CMS is what controls your website's front end. The contents of your homepage is edited from the CMS' page editor. The squeeze page where you convert your visitors into leads is also created in the CMS. 

If we're to use competitors as comparisons, HubSpot CMS is equivalent to WordPress or Shopify.
